Fans will be spoilt for choice as the last twelve months has seen a resurgence in rock music with a number of new artists coming to the forefront such as The Struts, Greta Van Fleet, Bad Wolves and IDLES. Classic acts like The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Alice Cooper and Guns 'N Roses are also still touring and doing there thing. Who said rock 'n' roll is dead?
Since its inception in 1993, the Kerrang! awards have honoured and played host to notable names in rock including Slash, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden. Last year's winners include Aersomith's Joe Perry who took home Kerrang! Inspiration, Tony Lommi of Black Sabbath who won Icon and Foo Fighters who cleaned up with Best International Live Act and Best International Band. Frontman Dave Grohl made an emotional speech dedicating his win to the late Chester Bennington who tragically took his own life a year prior:
Established in 1981, Kerrang! continues to be the definitive voice of rock and heavy metal music. Everyone who is everyone in these genres has appeared on their covers from Hanoi Rock's Michael Monroe, Van Halen's David Lee Roth and the legend that is Motörhead's Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister.
